Scripture of the Day-Proverbs 3:5-7

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil."

-Proverbs 3:5-7

Scripture of the Day -2 Corinthians 12:9-10

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
-2 Corinthians 12:9-10

~Helpful Tips

1. To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
2. To get the most juice out of fresh lemons, bring them to room temperature & roll them under your palm against the kitchen counter before squeezing.
3. To easily remove burnt-on food from your skillet, simply add a drop or two of dish soap and enough water to cover bottom of pan, and bring to a boil on stovetop-skillet will be much easier to clean.

~Helpful Tips

Here are some really helpful tips!

1. Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.

2. Use a meat baster to "squeeze" your pancake batter onto the hot griddle - perfect shaped pancakes every time.

3.To prevent egg shells from cracking, add a pinch of salt to the water before hard-boiling.

Recipe of the Week- Homemade Bread

This weekend I helped my mom by making some homemade bread (in the bread machine) and I wanted to share the recipe with you! This recipe is from one of my mom's friends with just a small change. We really like to make toast for breakfast with this bread. Yum!

Homemade Bread
Ingredients:
6 c. very warm water
3T. yeast
2/3 c. oil
3/4 c. honey
2T. sea salt
5 c. flour (will use 10-12 cups total)
Directions:
Mix on medium until well mixed. Let stand for 15 minutes, after that add more flour, 1 cup at a time, until sides of bowl begin to clean. You will need to change speed to #2 as dough gets stiffer. (Yes!) Knead for 8 minutes -use timer on machine. Place dough on a clean , oiled surface and form loaves. Place in greased pans. Let rise 30-40 min. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 min.

*Spray hands with cooking spray so dough won't stick to your hands.

Return of the Daughters DVD

Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin, authors of the book So Much More: The Remarkable Influence of Visionary Daughters on the Kingdom of God are taking the message of visionary daughterhood to a new level and into a new medium. They have made a DVD about how young ladies can expect to encounter a large gap between their years of basic training and the time when they marry… if they marry.. This highly-controversial documentary will take viewers into the homes of several young women who have dared to defy today’s anti-family culture in pursuit of a biblical approach to daughterhood, using their in-between years to pioneer a new culture of strength and dignity, and to rebuild Western Civilization, starting with the culture of the home. I have watched this documentary and it is wonderful.
If you would like to see the trailer for the DVD go to :http://returnofthedaughters.com/
