A Young Maiden's Daybook- June 29th, 2009

*Today… June 29, 2009

*Outside my window…It is sunny, warm, and breezy. This morning would be perfect for a walk around the block. :)

*I am thinking…About the day ahead.

*I am thankful for...Wonderful neighbors next door. :)

*I am wearing…My green and pink skirt, and green t-shirt.

*I am reading…My Bible, So Much More (It is a really good book but, it's a bit long...) and The Remarkable Women of the Bible by Elisabeth George.

*I am creating…Aprons to sell.

*One of my favorite things…Homemade chocolate brownies out of the oven. Yummy! (What girl doesn't like that? Right? Haha!)

*For education this week…Whatever I have the pleasure to learn on the way.

*A keeper at home skill I am using/learning…Homemaking skills.
*A spiritual lesson I’m learning…Contentment in where the Lord has me in my life.

*A godly character trait I plan to work on…Following God's will for my life. He has already written my story in life and I want to do what He wants not what I want. It can be hard, though.
*Scripture I am memorizing…James 1:9-10 "The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in is high position. But the one who is rich ought to take pride in is low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower."
*I am praying for…Mom's cancer to continue to shrink, Daddy's job to continue to do well in the economy, Baby Stellan to continue to stay healthy, and my future husband to have a pure heart for only me and that he will continue to grow into a mature and godly young man that is on fire for the Lord.

*For the rest of the week...I have some sewing to do, I need to list my jewelry on Etsy, and Katie and I are going to paint our room...PINK! I'll try to post Before and After pictures later in the week. :)

*A picture I’d like to share…

Please Pray

Would you all please pray for me? Right now, I'm sitting in mom's recliner, with a bit of a headache, I'm burning up, and my stomach feels VERY wishy washy. It almost feels like I'm in a wave pool or something. I feel awful and I can't eat very much without making the feeling worse. Arrghh. :( I felt like this yesterday as well, but this morning I felt great! Mom and I went to a friend's house to pick flowers in her yard this morning. She is on a trip and wanted us to enjoy freshly, picked flowers in our house. Her family has been such a joy and a wonderful blessing to our family! While we were out, we stopped by the farm where I am selling my wheat bread. We picked up my money and mom also bought three dozen brown eggs because we were almost out. When we got back home we grabbed something to eat for lunch and headed out with Katie and Andrew this time. We made sure that we had lots of water and ice because it has been a VERY warm one today. It only got up to about 92 degrees, but the humidity has been awful! When we got into town, we went to the Dollar General and the bank. That's when I started to feel bad... It was about 1:30 and Mom thought it would be best for me to be brought back home because of the heat outside. Katie and Mom would finish the errands after they dropped us off. Andrew was kind enough to stay and take care of me...just in case. :) When we got in the house, he got me some ice water with fresh lemon, turned on the fans, and I went to the bathroom for some Pepto Bismol. That is one thing that I do not like to drink. Yuck! :) It has helped a little bit and I am hopeful that the awful feeling in my stomach will subside really soon. Mom thinks I have had a bug a some sort for a few days and I think I have as well. Anyway, I just wanted to type out what my day as been like for all to read...so to speak. :) I'll let you all know how I'm doing soon!

Tootles,

Some pictures from this morning at our friends house...
*Update: Today at 3:30ish -Andrew and I just got back in our house. It just poured down here and it got VERY windy. Andrew and I went to our neighbors house because the sky looked really weird. We stayed over there for about 30-45 minutes and let it subside some. While we were there my stomach didn't hurt much. I was very glad because we couldn't really come home it was raining so hard. Andrew taught me how to play Slap Jack while we were there too. It is a really fast game but, it was fun and it took me mind off the whirlwind going on in my stomach. :)

**Update: Saturday at 12:51 pm- Thanks for the prayer everyone! :) I do feel better than yesterday and I have done a few things around the house today. YAY! I just got back in the house from soaking up some sunshine. I am now ready for a shower... It is very warm outside like yesterday and the humidity is awful! Yesterday I could hardly do anything without the feeling getting worse, so that's an improvement! Thanks again and I can't wait to get back to my normal self again... :)

June 19th- Sarah-Anne's Birthday!

You are all probably wondering what has been keeping me away from blogging? I know I have not posted since last Wednesday but, I have done a lot since then. :) I have about three other posts after this one of what I have done since last Wednesday. Brace yourselves! :) I have a lot of pictures to share with you. It will take a little while to edit all of the pictures, but I hope to get them up here really soon. I will try to do better about posting this week. ;)

On Friday, my good friend Sarah-Anne had her 14th birthday. She invited Andrew and me over to swim at her family's pool. We started celebrating her birthday a little after lunch until about 7:45 that night. We swam in the pool, played our Wii (Thanks to Andrew for remembering to pack it before we left our house), took some pictures outside, ate supper and had delicious cheesecake. While we waited for my mom to pick us up, Sarah-Anne and I worked on our Etsy banner. (Details on that soon, I hope...) :) Thank you so much for having us over on your birthday, Sarah-Anne! We had a blast sharing in your 14th birthday celebration!

Hope to talk to you all really soon!

Here are some pictures of us having fun on Friday...

Our Awesome Praise Report!

We are still praising the Lord today about the report we got on June 10th. Here is what mom wrote about her cancer praise report!

I had a chest xray done this morning. The radiologist report reads that there has been significant improvement in the right lung since the last xray was done!!! This is such good news to our ears! The oncologist was so encouraged and said, "THIS is fabulous news!" and gave me the thumbs up with a huge grin on his face. God has been so good to hear the prayers of His people! Needless to say, we are floating on a cloud right now.

I also had routine bloodwork done and all of that, but two things came back showing improvement, so that is a praise as well! The other two just need a little bit more work and they will be within the test limits. Both the oncologist and thyroid doctor were very pleased with what they have seen and said to keep doing what we're doing. I am also thankful that the nurse was able to find a good vein to do my calcium iv in this afternoon.

We are confident that He who began a good work, will be faithful to complete it. This journey has been an amazing one in so many ways. We can look back and see so many ways He has had His hand on the whole journey. He has been faithful and has never left us. When we felt like we were fighting the battle alone, we asked Him to raise up intercessors. Some of you have commented that "out of the blue" you would feel led to pray for us. We think those were the times we called on Him. Your prayers have held us up and we could not have gotten this far without them. We have truly learned that there is power in prayer. We are learning to trust the Father in a way we have never known. I will praise You, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.” Psalm 9:1

We have so much to be thankful for. The Lord has blessed us with such an amazing support group and I hope you all will continue to pray for us. Thank you everyone for all of the support! :)

Would you please continue to pray for these specific prayer requests?
*Please continue to pray for us as we move forward. We can't do this alone!
*Pray that the drug will continue to have minimal side effects for mom.
*Pray that the drug will continue work so perhaps she won't have to do chemo.
*Pray that we will remember all that God has done for us.
*Pray that we will continue to have peace that this treatment plan will work.
*Another prayer is that we will be able to tell others our story, that they will be amazed at what the Lord has done and put their trust in Him. Pray for doors to be opened for us to share!

Blessings,

Beach Pictures...Finally! :)

I wanted to get these pictures up here sooner but, I needed to edit them first. Enjoy! :)

The water was cold when you first got in but, the last day it was freezing!!! :)

I really like this picture! :)

We realized during this trip that 1 umbrella and 5 people was not going to work anymore. We bought another before we left the beach for next time. We can't wait to try it out! It just so happens that we got the second beach umbrella for half price. We found a beach store that was going out of business...
This little guy scared us really bad! Especially because he got right beside Mom's beach chair. Yes, the girls screamed. Well, just a little...haha! We decided that his eyes looked kinda like the Geico money commercial. :)
A shadow of me!!!

The beautiful sea....

The view from the deck...

I loved the rocking chairs on the deck. It was a great place to retreat from the sun. A perfect place to read a good book...

This turned out pretty well of me... We all got a little sunburned but, who doesn't when they go to the beach? :) We even used sunscreen!

Black + White = Another picture of me...

Andrew was running away from the camrea!!! I got a neat shot, though. :)

More beach....Ahhhh....I want to go back. "sigh"

The deck was really big! It was a great place to sit and watch the waves come in and go out and to watch people on the beach.

Black and white shot of the beach house.

Goodbye beach! Time to get back to our normal family life... :)
