Let it Snow!

Most of North Carolina is expected to see some sort of winter precipitation tonight and into Saturday. Snow, sleet and rain mixture is possible in our area. I just wanted to let you all know that we are in a winter storm warning right now. I also wanted to let you know just in case we are to lose power. I really hope we don't, but if we do you'll know why I'm not posting. :)
Stay safe!

Simple Women's Daybook- January 25th, 2010

For Today... January 25, 2010

Outside my window... It's a beautiful, warm, sunny afternoon! I love this weather! Although, it's now graying a bit :-(

I am thinking... About how it's been such a wonderful day.

I am thankful for... My wonderful mom who is beautiful inside and out!

I am wearing... Blue jeans, pink and white sweater, warm socks and a favorite pair of earrings.

I am remembering... Some of the things that I did when I was little. Oh, wow... :)

I am going... To be gone tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday in the afternoon. :)

I am currently reading... The Life of Faith: Elsie's Impossible Choice
I am hoping... That I can sleep better tonight. (Last night was very interesting-it was very windy and raining all night long.)

On my mind... What I need to do for the rest of the week.

Noticing that... Feelin' Feminine needs some writer's for February's issue. Check it out ladies! Click HERE!
Pondering these words... ""Love someone when they least deserve it, because that's when they really need it."" ~Author Unknown

From the kitchen... Whole wheat pancakes w/ blueberries for breakfast, homemade vegetable soup for lunch, and meatball subs are in the oven for supper. Yum!

Around the house... Working on school, sewing some of my quilt, and folding some laundry.

One of my favorite things~ Reading a good book before bed.

Second Blogger Anniversary and A Giveaway!

Wow! Another year as already gone by. I can't believe how the time as flown! It has been another year full of fun and challenging experiences for me, though! I have learned more, met more wonderful people, and even started writing for a website (http://www.feelinfeminine.com/). I wouldn't change anything that happened through the past year. It has helped me grow in many different ways. Thank you for being there for me, for the encouragement, and the wonderful emails that I've gotten. My goals for 2010 are:

1. Learn how to make my own background.
2. Improve in my banner skills. Ahem... :)
3. Make a matching button to go with the theme.

I would love to have Practically Pink look more professional, so I'm planning on learning how to do that this year. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated. :)

In celebration of my second year blogging anniversary, I'm hosting another wonderful giveaway! This time I'm giving away a pretty, practical, and warm item for this time of year...

A Devotion to Share

VERSE:

"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and

to mutual edification."- Romans 14:19

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=Romans+14:19

THOUGHT:

"Make every effort!" That's quite a challenge. But notice where

that exertion is to be focused: peace and mutual edification. Both

sides of this exhortation are two way responsibilities. I must

pursue and share peace if I am going to have it myself. I must

edify, and be open to being edified, if mutual edification is going

to happen. In other words, we live with other people in God's

family. He wants us to be responsible for making relationships work

in our spiritual family. He reminds us it will require strenuous

effort. But, isn't that true in every family relationship? Love

means sacrifice, effort, and concern for others. When we share our

love willingly, however, we're much more likely to see it coming

back to us!

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for my impatience and

selfishness. Defeat the bad attitude of competitiveness that I

often display in arguments and disagreements with others in your

family. Energize me by your Spirit to see areas where I can be a

blessing and an encouragement to others. In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

Whew! I hope your all staying warm!! It's been so cold in NC this past week. It's in the low 30's right now and I'm pretty cold. I've made great friends with my coffee mug, blanket, and slippers this past week, though. :) Let's just say I've been wearing many layers since it's been so cold. Mom said she can't remember it being this cold since she was a little girl. I do wish that we would get some snow if it's going to be this cold. :)

Keep Warm!

Mom's Report / I Will Rise by Chris Tomlin

Mom heard from the radiologist on Tuesday afternoon.....
And..the report shows that the tissue in question is indeed healing tissue and not tissue that is spreading! This is such wonderful news!!!!!!!!  The doctor also commented that there were a few lesions in the right lung and they are almost non existent!  They are just going to stay the same course and hope that the next CT scan shows even better results.  Needless to say, we're all doing the happy dance at our house!  God is so great!
 Praise Him with us!

This song has been such a wonderful blessing to my family this past week. I hope it will be one to you as well. (Please turn the playlist off on the bottom of the page before playing the video.)

To My Mom on Her Birthday

You have taken care of me ever since you first laid eyes on me...

You have loved me every day since I was a few seconds old...

You've been on my side even when I didn't deserve to be right...

No one could ever take your place because you're just that special...

I'm wishing you everything that brings you happiness today and always...

You may be one person to the world, but to me you are the best mother in the world...

I love you bunches and bunches!

Happy Birthday Mom!
