Oh, the weather outside is delightful!

We've been doing school work, making grocery lists, cooking, grocery shopping, and cleaning the refrigerators (or should I say cleaning out the science experiments?) today.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but I've been trying to enjoy this delightful weather we're having. It's supposed to get up in the 80's this weekend! It's so nice just to thaw out a little after having such a long and cold winter this year. Don't you just love warm, sunny days with a little breeze blowing through your hair? As you can probably tell, I'm pretty excited to see some warmer weather. :D

We had a fun, but productive weekend. On Saturday, Mom, Katie, and I ran some errands around town and went to a friend's baby shower. It was very fun- lots of good food and fellowship. While we were gone, Andrew and Daddy worked on some projects around the house.  We also tackled some of the closets, straightened the attic.  It was quite scary at first, but Andrew and I have completely transformed it.  It looks so much better!  We also went through our clothes for the spring/summer season.

Katie and I are going spring shopping with a friend tomorrow.   Friday afternoon is going to be full of fellowship and fun at another friend's house.   We will probably do some yard work, some baking and I might work on some of my quilt this weekend.

I got some fabric for my quilt last week and it's coming along quite nicely. After I got the new fabric squares cut out and I started sewing them all together, I couldn't stop sewing! I finished sewing all of the squares together in rows in about two hours. I can't wait to finish it! :D

Okay, I think that's all my news. Enjoy the rest of the week and this gorgeous spring weather! Stay tuned for another interview...want to guess who it is? Two letters, E and Z. :D

The Family Tree- Brothers and Sisters In Christ

Sometimes you may notice that Christians call each other brothers and sisters in Christ. We all come from the same family tree. Adam was not only our great, great, great...(you get the idea) grandfather physically, but we all have the same Father who is in heaven. When we asked the Lord to became our Savior, we were not only born again, but we were born into God's family.

It is a huge blessing to be a part of God's family and I'm very glad that I have so many brothers and sisters in Christ. God knows we can't face trials and tribulations alone.  Often times God shows us how much He really does care for us through our brothers and sisters in Christ.

God says in His word that we are to love one another.   If we are different and we show love and kindness to people around us, then it will let the world know we are a part of God's family. We can set an example to others if we love each other and get along with each other. God does the same and gives us this commandment,

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

The Bible tells us that when we love our brethren in Christ, it shows that we are saved. This is a gift that we have received from God and it isn't something that we are able to find anywhere else in this world. This is God's way of "putting a stamp or signature in us" and it shows that we are His own children.

Have you ever thought about being a brother or sister in Christ? If you reach out to someone and show them God's love through the way you treat them, I can guarantee you that you'll change their life forever.

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Historical Ball of 2010

Here are some pictures of our fifth annual historical ball.

The historical ball was a great success! It was the fifth homeschool historical ball and we had almost 200 people this year!  Everyone who had a part in the planning this year did a wonderful job. Everyone had a wonderful time! I was very impressed by all the beautiful costumes. It was also a pleasure to meet new people and to see all the lovely familiar faces.

 The beautiful, Sarah-Anne. :D

Saturday night was filled with family and friends, laughter, fellowship, fun, and of course...lots of dancing.

My lovely sister, Katie, and my handsome brother, Andrew. I love you guys! :D

There you have it...our Homeschool Historical Ball of 2010! :D

Kitchen Aid Giveaway!

Whew! I was right, this week is completely crazy and the only bad thing is...it's only Tuesday. We're taking advantage of the weather this afternoon to run some errands, since it's so warm and pretty outside.  Before we leave, I wanted to let you all know about this wonderful giveaway.  If you go over HERE, a lady is giving away two amazing Kitchen Aid Mixers! The only catch is that when you enter the giveaway, you must mention that “Miss Emily sent me” to the giveaway!  If you win and my name is on the comment selected, we both win one of the mixers!  Isn't that great?  I would absolutely love to have this for my future home...or maybe I could just use it now.  What about you?  Join in on the fun and don't forget to let her know that "Miss Emily sent you over"! I'll update when I can! :D

A Little Update on My Life

First off, let me tell you a brief reason of why I haven't posted this week.   Last week this time, I was getting a cold.   I finally felt a little more like myself on Tuesday night.   Thankfully, I'm almost all the way well now, minus a little lingering coughing, etc.

The rest of this week was very crazy.  We are getting ready for a Homeschool Historical Ball for next Saturday.  That involves a lot of work at our house because Katie and Mom are on the committee.  Mom is in charge of getting the food together and bought for our guests and Katie is charge of decorating the room the we have the ball in.  Lots of phone calls, and planning have been made this last week by both of them.  Katie, a friend of ours (Anna), and I had a big sewing day on Wednesday and got a lot finished on our new dresses.  I'll try to post pictures after the ball for you all to see.  We still are not finished with our dresses, but we only have to hem and put the finishing touches on them this week.  Yikes! :D

Yesterday, was one of our very busy days this week.  We had school until about 1:00, my biology co-op, Andrew's zoology co-op, and errands afterwards.  Today we have a family get-to-together at my grandma's house and then tomorrow we can breath a little before an even crazier weeks begins.

Since we have a lot of planning and things to be done this upcoming week, I kind of doubt I'll have time to post.  If you think about it, please pray for our stress to be low, for the rest of us not to get any sickness, and for everything to go smoothly during the upcoming week.  I'll be back to posting again as soon as I can!  Have wonderful weekend!

Much Love,
