You know that feeling that you get when you just have to get some chocolate? Well, I had one of those "chocolate craving moments" the other night and I began to raid the kitchen cabinets and drawers. After looking all around for a candy bar of some sort and not finding anything, I decided to make some cookies. I had seen a
recipe on
Meredith's blog awhile back that looked good, so I went on her blog, found the recipe and headed to the kitchen to mix up a batch. I'm the type of girl that likes cookies with crispy edges, but are still soft and chewy in the middle. This recipe was a huge success!
My family loves chocolate chip cookies and we're always trying out new recipes with the hope of finding the perfect recipe that creates cookies that are crispy on the edges yet soft in the middle. Many people try to find "the perfect recipe" and I believe that this is pretty close to best one that we have found. This recipe calls for flax seed and crushed coffee granules, but we were out of both ingredients, so I couldn't try it out this time around. I'm not sure what it would taste like, but maybe I'll try it out that way next time.
They turned out very well and defiantly got me out of the "chocolate craving mood"! I look forward to trying more recipes from
The Pioneer Woman Cooks later this summer.
Have a blessed weekend!
