"Did you feel the house shake or was that just me?"

Yes, indeed.  A few hours ago, I felt everything shake around me as I was doing my schoolwork.  I thought it was just me because sometimes I start shaking a little when I get really hungry and I hadn't eaten any lunch yet, but Andrew felt it as well.  He was in the back of the house and started yelling at me... " Em?!  What was that?!  Did you just feel the house shake or was that just me?"

I stood up from where I was sitting and I noticed that the shaking got even heavier and the house was indeed moving underneath me. The windows and doors started rattling and the lamps and blinds swayed as I sat back down on the couch.   I seriously thought I was going insane or something.  I looked outside and the windows shook strongly.  I could not believe what was happening.  We never get earthquakes in NC and I honestly had no idea what to think!  Andrew and I quickly turned on the news only to find out that there was a 5.8 earthquake in VA!  I couldn't believe what I was watching!

"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places." {Matthew 24:6-7}

Nothing like a few earthquake tremors to make you think you’re going crazy and thankful for your life all at the same time.  I’ve never felt an earthquake before until today, but I hope I never have to go through that again.  It was really weird and kind of scary.

What about you?  Did you feel it?  Stay safe, ya'll!

  6. That's the exact same verse that I was thinking of when I heard about the earthquake!

    It's very strange... if an earthquake can happen in the Eastern part of the U.S., then what else can happen?
    I live in Iowa and I didn't feel a thing.

  8. YES! It woke me from a nap! After I laid my little 5 mo. old down for her nap, I laid down to catch some zzz's of my own only to be woken by a small shaking...I too thought I was insane...then I jumped to the window to make sure Jesus wasn't in the sky...then I ran to check on my still snoozing baby girl (the tremors were very light here in central PA, but definitely felt!) We don't get earthquakes here either! And I opened up my Bible to that passage this afternoon as well...I'm thankful for hope and trust in the Lord...otherwise this would be terribly scary I think.

  9. Yep, like we talked about earlier that was so weird!

    The scripture you used really fits this situation. Daddy just read some verses to us from Revelation along that same line. Stuff like that really makes you think about the end times.

  12. I didn't feel it! I live in California though. :) I actually love earthquakes! They're awesome and exciting to me. I know everyone says California is the land of earthquakes, but we hardly ever get them.

    I thought the news coverage was funny though, because everyone seemed really scared. Maybe that's mean, ok sorry. :)

    Well, you got to experience an earthquake! I want to say congratulations, but it seems you didn't enjoy it.

    I do think it is crazy you had one over there though. It certainly is the end times.
