Welcome Summer

I'm sitting here on my bed, listening to the faint sounds of a thunderstorm outside my window and the sound of soft music playing on my laptop, and I can't help but smile.  Summer is finally here and I made it to the finish line after all those long school days; writing many papers, completing tests, and of course, you can't forget working on lovely Geometry problems.   Hence the sarcasm, people.  Math is not my favorite subject.  Honestly, it's hard to put this feeling into words, but so far, I love being a high school graduate.

Summer 2012 is finally here and in my book, when this season comes around, I like to start making lists and plans; dreams that I desperately want to be realized in these few months.  This summer, my list is a little different.  I'm going to attempt  to make my life more simple in these few months and try my hardest to enjoy the little things that sometimes get forgotten in all the craziness of life and schoolwork.

These are some of the things I'm planning on working on throughout the next few weeks...

  • Organize my closet and get rid of clothing, shoes, and things that I don't use anymore.  I want to only keep what I really need and donate everything else that is just collecting dust.
  • Start each morning by reading my Bible and praying before I check email, or do anything else.  I want to put God first and not "put Him on a shelf until it's a convenient time for me".
  • Spend more time strengthening relationships with my family and friends again.
  • Get back into making sure "all work is done before play" and tidy my bedroom daily so it stays neat.
  • Use my time wisely and try my hardest not waste my days.  I want to live like each day is my last and not regret not doing something.  (Ephesians 5:15-17)

Other exciting plans for Summer 2012:

  • Go on a week long beach trip with my cousin in a few weeks.
  • Go to Word of Life camp in Florida with Andrew and the rest of our youth group in July- so excited!!
  • Finally open up my Etsy shop and list all the items I've made.

  • Also, lots of Sonic happy hour runs, afternoons at the pool, spontaneous adventures with friends, day trips to the beach, sleepovers and movie nights.

That's my summer list. What's yours?
